Company Information

Film Regions International, Inc. (FRI) is an independent film production company initially established in Bakersfield, California by its principal founder and president, John Blythe. The Company is currently incorporated under the laws of the State of California for the purpose of producing feature length motion pictures to be showcased and marketed to international distributors and film festivals.

In addition, the Company has established international co-productions and co-financing agreements with independent filmmakers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Indonesia.

FRI’s mission is to engage in the production of features, shorts and documentary films and in any other lawful business agreed upon by its board of directors.

The Company is currently in post-production on My Amityville Horror, a feature-length documentary film for the festival circuit and has co-financed and produced three independent film productions including: Operation Mongoose (Canada) (completed); Despair (United Kingdom) (currently in Production) and Rumah dan Musim Hujan (Indonesia) (currently in Production).

Mr. Blythe is an entrepreneurial independent film producer with experience primarily in managing the business and financial affairs of low-budget film productions.

His professional career began as a Co-Producer for Emmy®-Award winning filmmaker Charles Barbee on the historical documentary film Wild West Country for PBS. After obtaining his Associates Degree from Cerro Coso College studying Business Administration and Digital Film Production, Mr. Blythe formed Film Regions International, Inc. (FRI), an independent film production company which he currently serves as President.

Since 2006, Mr. Blythe has offered film production business consulting to filmmakers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and South East Asia. Some of his films produced by Film Regions International include Operation Mongoose which was shot on location in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada; and One Day when the Rain Falls, an Indonesian co-production which received the 2008 Hubert Bals Fund from the International Film Festival of Rotterdam.

His goal is to establish a new independent film and entertainment media distribution company and build relationships with filmmakers, utilizing modern technology and social networking, and bring back the showmanship of filmmaking.

Blythe has also worked within the production field as a Controller, Production Manager and Executive Producer on other independently financed films in the United States and Canada. He is a graduate of University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Business and Management of Entertainment Program.
